Author’s course known from an offline course at a British design school, as well as from online courses on popular online educational platforms.
The course is practical, students work on real briefs from real companies.
If they fulfill all assignments, students can rightfully consider themselves practicing product designers and get a case in their portfolio.
Work on product design is done on five levels:
- The top level is the Surface level, Look&Feel, the level where people assess the relevance of interface design style.
- Deeper is the level of layout of objects – their mutual arrangement on the screen largely determines the ease of interaction.
- Even deeper is the level of information architecture – this level determines how effective the route the user takes from the starting point to his or her goal.
- Underneath it all is the scoop level – what features are included in the digital product, what is the minimum set of features needed for it to be viable.
And at the bottom is the answer to the question, “Why?” – is the digital product strategy level. At this level, the user segment of the product is defined, the problems of this segment are identified and solutions are formulated.
The course program has already been tested on more than 2,000 students offline and online and is the quintessence of proven materials and modern approaches to education.
